Does NyumbaPc work with M-Pesa?
Yes. Tenants pay to your paybill using their unit number as the account number. NyumbaPc reads that account number and clears the right invoice on its own, so you are not scrolling through payment messages trying to work out who sent what.
Do my tenants need a smartphone?
No. Every reminder and receipt goes out as a normal SMS, so any handset works. There is a tenant portal for those who want it, but nothing depends on them using it.
What if a tenant pays in cash?
You or your caretaker record it against the unit, and the balance updates exactly as it would for an M-Pesa payment. NyumbaPc is not trying to push everyone onto one payment method.
What if they only pay part of the rent?
It is recorded as a part payment and the balance stays open for the rest. Reminders keep going out for what is still owed, not the full amount again.
Can I manage properties for other landlords?
Yes. Each owner gets their own books, their own statements and their own login, and you run them all from one account. You can send each owner a PDF statement instead of rebuilding it in Excel every month.
How long does setup take?
Send us your unit and tenant list as a spreadsheet, or even a photo of your book, and we import it for you. We then go through your first invoice run together before a single tenant is messaged.
What happens to my data if I stop paying?
It stays yours and you can export it. Nothing is deleted out from under you. The trial is 7 days with every feature and no card, so you can find out whether it fits before any money changes hands.
